December and January

What another busy few months.  We have been keeping very busy here in the VanderHill House.
First, in December, we had our Christmas Programs with the kids from Second Reformed.
Micah and Chad played the music for us, and Alisha and I lead the children and youth.

I also was in charge of the sacred dance- it turned out so wonderful, I was very proud of my little dancers, I even got to dance a little bit!

Bryan and I turned 25 years old on Christmas Eve, and we had a wonderful birthday.

Then, we had Christmas Morning at the Keeley's home.  Micah got a guitar from Bryan- he was so happy that he didn't care about opening any other gifts. He played the guitar the rest of the morning.

Then we went over the Grandma and Grandpa VanderHill's house for Christmas with the VanderHill Family.  It is a large group of people!

Then we drove to Big Rapids, to celebrate Christmas with the VanderHills the next morning.

Leah and I got matching PJ's and we loved to model them.

Finally we had Trevonia Celebration on New Years Eve with the Reinstra's. Complete with Toasts!

Meredith's job at Second has been going great.  Beginning on Jan 1, she has been full time, taking on the additional responsibilities of Communication Director. She has really enjoyed it but has been really busy because before she knew she would be full time, she took a temporary position at Calvin College for 20-25 hours a week working in Campus Ministries.  She is the Department Assistant for Worship Programing, working a lot with websites, emails, coordinating speakers, preparing materials for chapels and working on advertisements.  Both Calvin and Second have been wonderful, and she loves them, but working 60+ work weeks has taken its toll on her energy level for anything else.  She still managed to take some cute pictures of Paisley for her ten month birthday with our friends Chad and Alisha.

Second Stop (the group Meredith runs for kids on Wednesday Nights) has been working hard on their latest art project. It will be displayed in the churches art show "Common Threads" coming in March.  The kids wrote prayers on strips of cloth and invited the congregation to write prayers too. Then they each took turns weaving them together.  It created a beautiful tapestry of prayers from Second Reformed Church, and a beautiful piece of art to help us pray and worship God.

We hope that you all have a wonderful valentines day. We sure did (yes, it is only Feb 10th, but we decided to gift each other early, while we could actually enjoy each other company.  We are very busy on tuesdays.)
Meredith was pretty happy with her gift from Micah.
Lots of love,
Meredith and Micah
