Mackinac Island-- our final summer adventure

With Micah's classes starting tomorrow, we decided to take thursday and go to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island.  We bought tickets for the ferry, the carriage tour, and the fort.  I really enjoyed the carriage tour! It was interesting to hear some fun facts about the Island (did you know it was built on limestone- so the graveyard's graves are only two feet deep?)

Relaxing at the library
Now, we are back to regular life again.  I am still getting over this cold I've had for a few weeks now.  Meanwhile, the students are all back in town.  I am thankful we do not live in a student heavy complex. We have a few students here, but primarily not. Still, last night at 4 am some students set of a car alarm.  (and the car was right next to our cars too.)  It might take me a little while to get used to so many undergraduate students in such a small space- with little to do early in the morning. :)
